About My Process
All of my work starts as a drawing. I take inspiration from a wide range of sources, including movies, music, and the world around me. I then transfer my drawing to a block (I use a range of battleship gray linoleum and rubber) and then print using both printing ink (applied with a brayer) and archival/pigment ink. The photo above shows a bit of my multi-color printing process. For multi-color images, I carve individual blocks for each color and print each color separately. All of the instances of an image are printed individually (for backgrounds, stationery, etc). Many of my prints represent dozens of individual prints repeated to make a background. The foreground figure is also printed (using a multi-block technique), carefully cut out, and mounted to the background using acid-free adhesive. Therefore, anything you buy from me is guaranteed to be one-of-a-kind!
The pins and earrings I make are hand printed on a special type of plastic, shrunk, and then coated with UV resin to ensure they will be durable and long-lasting. Color is applied by hand. I use hypoallergenic surgical steel for my jewelry.
I am happy to do custom work and special orders as well.
I often post work in progress on Instagram--a great place to check out what I am working on, see if there's something else you like, and learn more about my printmaking and art-making process! Your support of and interest in my work mean so much. Thank you!
